Our last event - the bar and food marquee at:
MURDER, MYSTERY AND MAYHEM
Thirteen tables of would-be detectives assembled in St. Peter & St. Paul’s on the night of Saturday May 18th to pit our wits against the fiendishly hilarious machinations of the Rye Players in the Beaches and Dream Holiday Camp. The foul murder took place offstage, in the best classical tradition, but the clues came thick and fast, red herrings abounded and only two of the tables managed to point the finger at the true villain. Sixties costumes on the audience added to the fun and in the first interval the doughty catering team supplied us all in double-quick time with abundant platters of Ploughman’s Supper. Many thanks to the Peasmarsh Friends volunteers for arranging this novel entertainment, to the bar staff for the ample and jovial supply of alcoholic and alcohol-free beverages – and to all those who helped put the chairs back in place for the celebration of Pentecost the next morning.
On Tuesday 16th April 2024, a group of keen and experienced bridge players arrived in the early afternoon at the church to play Chicago Bridge. The atmosphere in the church was happy and positive. Everyone was enjoying themselves - very much a case of friendly bridge. After two hours of intense play everyone was ravenous for tea. The display of both home-made sandwiches and cakes was the best ever. The raffle had prizes suitable for bridge players and gardeners as well as chocolates and wine. It was very well received.
Over £500 was raised for the Friends of Peasmarsh Parish Church

Bridge Drive March 2023
A very successful Bridge Drive was held on 21st March 2023. The event raised an excellent sum for the Friends, which will, of course, be put to good use to keep our beautiful Church looking and functioning as well as possible for a building of such great age.

We will, hopefully be running another Bridge Drive next Spring. In the meantime, do return to this webpage again to see what event we have in store next! The Committee already have some ideas in hand...
